Privacy and local control.
How OMNIVAREN handles information locally, what optional integrations may share, and how purchase and support information is treated.
1. Scope and responsible party
This policy describes how Lunar North Star Holdings ("we," "us") handles information associated with OMNIVAREN™, our website, product purchases, and product support. OMNIVAREN is designed primarily as self-hosted software for use on hardware and networks operated by the purchaser. The owner or administrator of an OMNIVAREN installation controls its configuration and access.
2. Information handled locally
Depending on enabled modules and configuration, OMNIVAREN may collect and store information about local devices and services, such as device names, IP and MAC addresses, network activity, DNS metadata, host health and versions, alerts, agent health reports, media-service metadata, account information, settings and backup records. This information is used to provide the features selected by the administrator.
Local data may be sensitive. Administrators are responsible for securing their devices, credentials, network access, backups, export files and any information they choose to share.
3. Optional connections to outside services
OMNIVAREN is designed to operate locally, but specific integrations may connect to external services when configured or enabled. Examples include weather and wildfire feeds, market data, vulnerability and threat intelligence sources, notification delivery via ntfy or another configured service, time synchronization, and product-specific integration endpoints. Connected Plex, Pi-hole, UniFi or other systems may have their own privacy practices.
Depending on the integration, third parties may receive requests and metadata such as network address, requested data, timestamps, a notification topic or administrator-supplied credentials. Review the terms and privacy practices of each enabled service. Do not publish private notification topics or API tokens.
We do not represent that enabling every integration involves zero third-party communication.
4. Website and hosting
The OMNIVAREN marketing website is a static website. The website offers optional Google Tag Manager analytics (container GTM-MSRK9369). By default, the Google tag is not loaded. If a visitor selects “Allow analytics,” the website loads Google Tag Manager, which can load configured Google Analytics tags and process information such as page views, browser data, device information, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers depending on the tags configured. Visitors may decline analytics and can reopen their choice using the Analytics settings control. Declining does not prevent essential web server logging. A hosting provider may nevertheless process ordinary technical data such as IP address, user agent, request time and error logs to deliver and protect the site. The actual hosting provider and its retention settings should be confirmed before public launch.
Google may process analytics data under its own terms and privacy practices. Review Google’s privacy information at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Additional tags, advertising features, newsletters, forms or embedded third-party content must not be added without first updating this policy and the consent implementation.
5. Purchases through Ko-fi
OMNIVAREN is planned to be sold through Ko-fi. Ko-fi and its supported payment providers handle checkout and payment processing under their own policies. As seller, Lunar North Star Holdings may receive buyer information such as a name, contact email, transaction identifiers, amount paid and support messages as needed to fulfill orders, keep accounting records, verify license eligibility and provide support. We do not need customers to provide payment card numbers directly to the OMNIVAREN website.

6. How information is used and shared
Information received directly from customers may be used to process and document purchases, deliver purchased software, respond to support requests, investigate abuse, improve product reliability, address security issues and comply with legal duties. We do not intend to sell customer personal information or use purchase details for targeted advertising.
Information may be shared with service providers needed for fulfillment, payment, hosting, communications or security, or when legally required. We will not demand customer network inventories, credentials or raw security logs for routine purchase fulfillment. If diagnostic logs are voluntarily provided for support, customers should remove secrets and unnecessary personal data first.
7. Retention and security
Purchase and support information should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for fulfillment, legitimate records, dispute handling and applicable legal obligations. Customers control retention and backups inside their own OMNIVAREN installation based on product settings. No system can be guaranteed immune to security incidents. Reasonable safeguards and limited access are important, but absolute security cannot be promised.
8. Privacy requests and policy changes
Customers may request information about data held directly by Lunar North Star Holdings, corrections, or deletion where applicable, subject to legal record-keeping obligations. A dedicated privacy contact address must be published before sales begin. Requests about local installation data should be directed to that installation’s administrator.
We may update this policy as the software, website, vendors or legal requirements change. Material changes should be communicated through the website or other appropriate means.
